Glimpses of the Light

By Leslie J Fenner

I walked to the edge of the cliff and jumped; there was no turning back. Today I was leaving behind my home, my friends, my career, my family and all the comforts of the Western world to which I had become so accustomed and attached.

My life as an international executive came to a sudden halt, when my Buddhist teacher instructed me to leave all that was familiar to travel to Bhutan, live in his monastery and teach English to Buddhist monks.

Dressed in an Armani suit, I boarded the plane with six hockey bags stuffed to the max. Terrified of the unknown, I broke into a cold sweat as I settled into my seat. Would I discover magic? Would I be allowed entry into the kingdom of the Divine? All I knew for certain was that my plane would be met by the monk Ugyen Wanchuk.

Book Reviews

Reading this book gave me a new perspective on life and what we take for granted. I would recommend this book because it caused me to look at life in a different way, to see through the eyes of a different culture and to become aware of options that we all have within our lives and our spirituality. World peace, health, and abundance could be a goal for all people, and cultures. Knowledge is power, acceptance and understanding are key. This is my view of Glimpses of the light I can’t wait to share it with others.

I loved your book. The story was deeply human
