The whole point of meditation is about taming the mind. When you tame your mind you master your life, moving beyond the insanity of your insecurities, limiting beliefs or fears. — Leslie J Fenner

Developing your seventh sense/ mindful awareness

The inward bound journey lies at the heart of all personal mastery. By heightening our awareness we access our inner knowing. Stepping into our leadership roles we commit to fulfilling our purpose and vision. Deep listening, expanding our awareness, comes as the result of having the courage to look within. Looking beyond our habitual conditioning of assumptions, expectations and attachments we begin to see the world from a 30,000 view instead of through a microscopic lens.

Becoming a leader and fulfilling our vision begins by heightening our awareness. As we come to trust and accept the world, and the moment as it is, we are released from the net of our struggle. Awareness, reflection, and understanding heightens our creativity, increases our vitality and enhances our ability to lead. Leadership begins as we spawn mindful awareness and develop our seventh sense.

Meditation, deep listening and mindful awareness techniques are taught in all course material as a means to;

  • Cultivate leadership
  • Heighten awareness
  • Increase vitality
  • Spawn creativity
  • Enhance wellness
  • Release tension and anxiety
  • Reduce stress and insomnia
  • Develop intuition
  • Enhance communication

Meditation

  1. Sit on a cushion on the ground, or on a chair, with your back straight. If you are sitting on the floor, cross your ankles if you are on a chair, firmly planting your feet on the ground.
  2. Rest your hands on your knees or in your lap. Relax your arms, shoulders, face and jaw. Keep your eyes open and gaze downward. (By keeping your eyes open you remain present.)
  3. Breathe deeply into your stomach and bring your breath up and into your chest. Hold your breath for a long and possible and then slowly release your breath.
  4. Begin by counting your breaths to bring you into the moment. Repeat this process 21 times. When you become more focused you can stop counting and remain deep breathing.

The intent of meditation is not to get rid of your thoughts. It is the beginning of awareness, becoming mindful.
